Your Questions, Answered
-
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore what has brought you to therapy. We'll discuss what you'd like support with, any questions you may have, and whether my approach feels like the right fit for you. There is no pressure to share more than feels comfortable.
-
Yes. I offer a free 20-minute introductory call with no obligation to continue. This gives you an opportunity to ask questions, hear more about how I work, and get a sense of whether we might work well together before committing to therapy.
-
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly. I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy, depending on your needs and goals. We can discuss what feels most appropriate during our initial conversation.

You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come to therapy because they're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, struggling in relationships, or simply looking for a space to better understand themselves. If something in your life feels difficult or isn't working as you'd like, therapy may be a helpful place to start.
-
I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, loss, trauma, feeling stuck, and difficulties related to identity or belonging. You don't need to have a specific diagnosis to benefit from therapy.

Finding the right therapist is a personal decision. Qualifications and experience are important, but so is feeling comfortable, understood and able to build a trusting relationship. That's one reason I offer a free introductory call, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether working together feels right for you.

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy. What you share in our sessions will remain private, with a few legal and ethical exceptions, such as where there are serious concerns about your safety or the safety of others. We will discuss confidentiality in more detail during our first session so that you feel informed and comfortable about how your information is handled.
-
I take confidentiality, privacy and data protection seriously and work in accordance with BACP ethical standards, as well as UK GDPR requirements. While email can be a convenient way to arrange appointments and make initial contact, it is not completely secure. For this reason, I recommend sharing only limited personal information by email. Further details about how your information is collected, stored and protected can be found in my Privacy Policy.

You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from psychotherapy. If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in recurring patterns, struggling in relationships, experiencing low mood, or finding it difficult to cope with life changes, therapy can provide a space to explore what's happening and find a way forward. Many people seek support simply because they want a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences.
-
Counselling often focuses on a specific issue or challenge you're facing in the present, while psychotherapy tends to explore deeper emotional patterns, past experiences, and the ways they may be influencing your current life. In practice, there is often overlap, and both can help you develop greater self-awareness, emotional wellbeing, and lasting change.
-
Psychotherapy can help with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, workplace challenges, and feelings of being stuck or disconnected. Therapy offers a confidential space to explore your experiences, strengthen self-awareness, and make meaningful changes in your life.

Yes. Therapy can help you understand the underlying causes of anxiety, recognise triggers, and develop healthier ways of responding to difficult thoughts and feelings. Whether you're experiencing constant worry, panic, self-doubt, stress, or feeling overwhelmed, psychotherapy can provide support, insight, and practical strategies to help you feel more in control.

Therapy fees in London vary depending on the therapist's qualifications, experience, location, and whether sessions are in-person or online. My current fees are outlined on the Fees page, and I am happy to discuss any questions during an initial consultation.

There is no set timeframe for therapy. Some people attend for a few months to work through a specific issue, while others choose longer-term psychotherapy to explore deeper patterns and experiences. We can discuss your goals together and regularly review whether therapy is meeting your needs.
